EJECT CD/DVD QUICKLY

Another way of ejecting a CD/DVD If you want to eject a DVD or a CD, you have to hold down the Eject key for a few seconds, otherwise, it won't eject. You can bypass the time delay however. You just have to press "Option - Eject" and it will eject instantly, without having to wait a few seconds. Make sure that this is not to be used as troubleshooting step, its just a tip for you to make your Mac act faster.

EJECT/UNMOUNT EXTERNAL DRIVES

How to unmount external/eject drives? Sometimes we get a disk or disk image stuck and not gets eject even after restarting the Mac holding down the mouse button. If that does not unmounts, you can force it with a Terminal command. In order to do thid, launch Terminal and use “ df ” to list the drives. Search and locate the drive that you want to unmount, such as /dev/disk3al. Then run command “ diskutil unmountDisk force /dev/disk3al ″ this should force it to unmount. Make sure you try this command after making sure that you have pointed the correct drive.

How to Eject a stuck CD/DVD in Mac? There are many ways to eject a drive but here I am mentioning only two of them, targeting the novices. 1. Eject using Disk Utility: The simplest way to eject is to use Disk Utility, (to access press Command+U). Once Disk Utility is launched, select the volume that needs to be unmounted and click Eject . 2. Eject using Disk Utility: Press & hold down the mouse button at startup, in some cases this might cause a misbehaving optical drive to eject its media. There are few more steps which I will be mentioning in upcoming posts.
